Fresh Spa, the natural solution to spa maintenance
Nova Spa, the natural solution to spa maintenance
Nova Penetrating Spa Cleanser

This new spa cleanser uses microbes to clean the gunk and
contaminants out of the plumbing and off the surface of your hot tub.
ABM Solutions Inc. has teamed up with Integra Environmental LTD. to
create a spa cleanser that is not only safe and effective, but has no
match in the pool and spa industry.  This proven technology meets the
standards required to be listed on the EPA's NCP product schedule.
These products are safe to be used in aquatic situations for cleaning
up oils and other contaminants.  ABM Solutions and Intergra
Environmental share a common goal to produce excellent bio-based
non-toxic cleaners, and provide genuine, long term solutions to
pressing health, safety, and environmental problems.
What are microbes?
Microbes are tiny organisms—too tiny to see without a microscope,
yet they are abundant on Earth. They live everywhere—in air, soil,
rock, and water. Some live happily in searing heat, while others thrive
in freezing cold. Some microbes need oxygen to live, but others do
not. These microscopic organisms are found in plants and animals as
well as in the human body.  Some microbes cause disease in humans,
plants, and animals. Others are essential for a healthy life, and we
could not exist without them.
Nova Penetrating Spa Cleanser contains live, safe, natural, oil consuming microbes.  These naturally
occurring micro-organisms will eat the built up oils and contaminants inside your spa.  Bacteria use the oils
and organics in the water as food. As the gunk builds up in the plumbing, the bacteria will attach itself to the
gunk and use it as a food source to grow and multiply.  The microbes eat away at the gunk and loosen it, so it
can be flushed out of the spa.  These microbes are safe to handle and will not harm the rubber gaskets in your
pumps.  This cleanser works great on hot tubs and also will work on whirlpool spas and jetted tubs as well.

Since these microbes are naturally occurring and environmentally safe, draining your outdoor spa won't harm
the grass or plants.  Draining your tub into your house plumbing has an added benefit.  The microbes will
continue to work on build up in the plumbing as they pass through.
Nova Penetrating Spa Cleanser Application Directions For Hot Tubs
1. Remove the spa filter cartridge from the filter housing and store in a safe place during the cleaning process. It is
recommended that the filter also be cleaned with the Nova Penetrating Spa Cleanser or replaced if necessary.
You can place the filter in the bottom of the spa during the cleaning process.
2. Use the existing spa water, if there is less than 5 ppm chlorine or bromine. If chlorine or bromine exists at 5 ppm or
  greater, drain spa and refill.
Chlorine and bromine will kill the microbes and the cleanser will not work.  Set the
temperature of the spa below 75 degrees and cool down spa before adding the cleanser.
Do not use with hot water.
Temperatures over 75 degrees will kill the microbes.
3. Pour in the full bottle of the Penetrating Spa Cleanser.  Circulate the spa water for 1 hour to mix the cleanser throughout
the spa water.  If you cannot turn off the heater or set the temperature below 75 degrees, turn off the spa after the initial
circulation.  You can circulate the water periodically to mix the water, but it is not necessary to the cleaning process.
Close the air jets to reduce foaming during the cleaning process.  The foam can be used to clean the surface above the
  water line.
4. After two days, run the pumps on high to flush the plumbing for 10 minutes.  Drain the water, and refill the spa with
fresh water. This is a good time to remove the jets and clean them.  Run the pumps again on high setting. This
will help flush the remaining contaminants out of the plumbing.   Drain and refill the spa.  Set your temperature
  setting to the desired temperature.
5. Clean both sides of the spa cover with Clorox Clean-Up or similar product and water. If the cover is cracked or
torn, we recommend it be replaced. VERY IMPORTANT: If your spa cover has a zipper closure it is important to
unzip the cover, BUT DO NOT REMOVE THE COVER, because it is difficult to put back on. Flush the inside of
the cover with your garden hose. The inside of spa covers have been known to harbor mold and bacteria, all
of which drip from condensation through the cover back into the spa water.
6. We recommend using the Nova Penetrating Spa Cleanser for cleaning the spa filters. Do not use chemical filter
cleaners or any household cleaners that have chemicals in them.  If the chemicals are not completely removed, the
chemicals may react with the water and cause an odor or cloud the water in tub.
7. Do not use the spa during the contaminant cleaning process.

For best water quality, we recommend using the Nova Penetrating Spa Cleanser every 6 months to remove built up
contaminants from the tub shell and plumbing.    Depending upon use, you may be able to do this once a year with your
water change.   You will be amazed at the amount of gunk and contaminants visible in the water while the Nova
Penetrating Spa Cleanser is working.

I left the filter in the bottom of the spa to allow the
microbes to clean the filter while cleaning the spa.

see the gunk that stayed between the folds even after rinsing (center).
